When we dig deep, spiritually
to a place of even the slightest understanding of the colossal depth of the
Lord’s invisible workings in our lives- how he loves us as we sin, how he cares
for us in our defiance, how he is understanding of our flaws, hang-ups and mess
ups; how He cries with us beyond our sorrow in a way that mourns with a godly
compassion; how He loves us with a pure kindness so much so that His grace
seeps into our being- deeper than we will ever know; THEN we may have a shallow
understanding of God’s loving kindness and mercy!
No matter how desperately we
seek the Lord and how badly we want to know him well- we will continue to strain
our spiritual eyes to see and fluster our minds because our thoughts won’t
expand enough to contain all of Him. To
me, this is a joyous thing and one of the blessings of being earth-bound in
that we get to enjoy the mystery of our Creator!
Our God is vast and amazing
and sometimes the wise thing would be to simply laugh as we surrender and admit
our minds aren’t up to the task. THAT is
when God will do the amazing; He will gift and stretch us beyond human understanding-
giving us a revelation that yields knowledge, pure joy…and a slight glimpse of HIMSELF!
Yes, we are constrained by
our human minds but we are still called to seek Him out. We are beckoned by The Word to search all of
nature to understand His nature. We are
challenged by ancient documents to a Calling-of-the-Ages to recognize God as God! With our hearts committed to Jesus all of
heaven becomes our inheritance and God’s presence, His expansive power and
eternal love is within our reach. With
heaven as our vantage point our Godly perspective allows us to see that “the impossible looks logical” because we
have stepped into the atmosphere of our supernatural God.
Relevant Scripture of our calling to Seek out God:
“You will seek
me and find me
when you seek me with all your heart.”
when you seek me with all your heart.”
Jer.
29:13
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.
As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.
As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
Isaiah 55:8-9
“And even if our gospel is veiled,
it is veiled to those who are perishing.
The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers,
so that they cannot see the light of the
gospel of the glory of Christ,
who is the image of God.
For we do not preach ourselves,
but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves your
servants for Jesus’ sake.
For God, who said, “Let light shine out of
darkness,
made his light shine in our hearts,
to give us the light of the knowledge of the
glory of God
in the face of Christ.”
in the face of Christ.”

Corinthians 4: 1-6
“Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
How unsearchable his judgments,
And his paths beyond tracing out!
Who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or who has been his counselor?”
Who has ever given to God,
that God should repay him?”
For from him and through him and to him
are all things
To him be the glory forever! Amen.
Romans
11: 33-36
“As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I
urge you to live a life worthy
of the calling you have received.
Be completely humble and gentle;
be patient bearing with one another in love.
Make every effort to keep the unity of the
Spirit
through the bond of peace.
There is one body and one Spirit—
just as you were called to one hope when
you were called—
one Lord, one faith, one baptism;
one
God and Father of all, who is over all
and through all and in all. “
Ephesians 4: 1-6
Our Prayer:
"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more
than all we could ask or imagine,
according to his power that is at work within us
to him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus
throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen
than all we could ask or imagine,
according to his power that is at work within us
to him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus
throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen
Ephesians 3:20-21
